I. Introduction
In recent years, with the development of social economy and people's increasing awareness of healthy diet, the concept of green food has gradually been paid attention to and pursued by people. In the breeding industry, energy conservation and emission reduction and reducing the cost of compound feed are prominent issues. Therefore, new feeds such as silage grass, tofu dregs, rice straw, and discarded vegetable leaves have also been widely used. This article will introduce a new chicken farming technology using mealworms for breeding.

II. Biological characteristics of mealworms
Mealworms are small insects rich in protein, fat, minerals and other nutrients. It has strong reproductive capacity and can adapt to various environments. And mealworms have a high feed conversion rate, fast reproduction speed, and better meat quality. Mealworms are very suitable for use as feed additives in the process of raising chickens. And because of its tenacious vitality, it can be bred and raised independently in family breeding.

III. Technology of breeding with mealworms
1. Breeding environment
The breeding environment of mealworms should be relatively dry and well ventilated, otherwise it is easy to mold and die. You can use straw mats or sawdust to cover the mealworms, which can ensure the living environment of the mealworms. Mealworms are a kind of conservative insects, so they have absolute temperature adaptability, and the most suitable temperature for reproduction is 25℃.

2. Feed and feeding

Mealworms have a certain selectivity for food sources, mainly rotten vegetables, fruits, discarded grain husks, etc. The average daily feeding amount is 0.8-1 times the amount of insects. Each time you feed, the feed should be mixed evenly to avoid excessive waste, and it is not advisable to continuously bundle the same type of feed for feeding. It is best not to have granular feed, so as to avoid the death of mealworms due to excessive feed.
