The nutrients in rat meat are of great significance to enhancing the immunity of reptiles. Zinc is involved in the synthesis and activity regulation of various enzymes in the reptile immune system, which helps to maintain the normal function of immune cells. Antioxidant vitamins such as vitamin A and vitamin C can remove free radicals in the body and reduce oxidative damage to cells, thereby improving the disease resistance of reptiles. When the immunity of reptiles is improved, they can better resist the invasion of external pathogens, reduce the risk of disease, and live healthily in an artificial breeding environment.
What should you know when thawing?

The correct way to thaw frozen mice
Many friends who keep snakes may encounter a problem, that is, there is no condition to keep mice at home, so they can only choose frozen mice as food for pet snakes. There are actually two ways to thaw frozen mice: air thawing and warm water thawing. However, these two methods actually have some requirements.
1. It is not recommended to use air thawing. Because air thawing takes a long time, after a few hours, the mice are thawed, but the inside has deteriorated. If such mice are fed to snakes, problems will arise sooner or later.
2. Warm water thawing is much faster. However, it should be noted here that warm water cannot be hot water! When meat is thawed quickly by heat, propionaldehyde will be produced, which is a toxic substance.
Post-thawing treatment
Try to wipe the surface moisture of the thawed mice as much as possible to avoid getting too much bedding and causing accidental ingestion. In addition, try not to feed mice that have been frozen for more than half a year (nutrient loss), and do not refreeze the thawed mice for next use.

Storage suggestions
Storage suggestions:
After quick freezing, rat meat needs to be stored in a suitable environment. Professional freezers or freezers in household refrigerators can be used as storage places for frozen rat meat as long as they can be kept at a low temperature of about -18℃. In such a low-temperature environment, frozen rat meat can be stored for a long time.
Generally speaking, under standard freezing conditions, frozen rat meat can be stored for one to two years. However, it should be noted that over time, although the safety of rat meat will not be greatly affected, its taste and nutritional content may gradually decrease.
Therefore, in order to provide the best food experience for reptiles, it is recommended to use up frozen rat meat within six months to one year after purchase.
